United Bank of Africa,Alagbaka branch Akure,need to improve in there customer service and there network,I used a pos machine to withdraw money,I was debited twice,and the pos representative was not credited,so the woman said I should allowed her to called there customer service,in which she was told that it w be rectified in two working days,I waited for three working days my money was not reverse back,I visited the bank to lodge the complain myself,I explained everything to my account officer,he said w should give them another 7working days because they are having network issues,after 8working days I didn't see any credit alert nor reverse back my money,I have to went back to the bank to know what is actually going on,why my money is not bn reverse back,I was told by the customer service that I cant see my account officer for now, because he has bn transferred to another branch,when I started shouting,that was when the branch manager came out and address the issues,and begged me that before 24hours they w reverse it back,in which they did.
UBA is one of the banks I love as they don't waste time with transactions. I use it as my salary bank and so far, I receive alert almost immediately a transfer is initiated.
What I don't like about them is the way their customer support don't care about customers when they are tired. Two months ago, I felt so embarrassed with the response I got in the bank when trying to ask for guide on how to fill a form.
I always have mixed feelings when visiting the bank.
My experience with United bank of Africa (UBA) has not been fair at all. UBA used to be one of the best traditional banks I liked so much back then. I opened UBA during my service year as a corp member. I went to a POS to catch out some amount of money in 2024, the transaction was declined while my money was deducted. I reached out to the customer care and they promised to refund with 5 working days. A week passed ,my money was not refunded. I had to message their customer care on Twitter which is now X to lodge my complaint. I think they need to really work on their server so that I and every of their customer can be happy using their service.
UBA offers convenient banking with a user-friendly mobile app and a strong presence across Africa. Their services are generally reliable for everyday transactions, though customer service can sometimes be slow. Overall, a solid option for personal and business banking.
And some of the problems i encountered is shortage of my money sometimes like ₦50 or ₦100
UBA is my old bank that I still love to keep. I visited their branch last month to get an ATM card, the customer service felt tired of giving me audience because I don't have my account number again. I explained that it's my old bank but this lady almost made me get tired of my decision. This was one of the reasons why I left the bank for other banks. They most time have a bad customer support.
I love their fast alert system, hoping that it would still be the same once I start using it again.
UBA should work on customer support.
I'm so glad for this kind of opportunity where I can eventually explain what I have experience overtime with this Bank.
UBA network is usually bad, infact anytime I want to transfer,I will have to wait till midnight before I can transact, and the little money the bank deduct on every transaction is too much...
I could remember vividly,the day the sum of five hundred naira (500#) was sent to me, planned to buy pepper with the money,then I was still an undergraduate,to my surprise UBA deducted this money and it reminded two hundred naira only (#200) ,I was heartbroken,I nearly cried that day...
UBA should stop unnecessary money deductions.
Been using UBA since 2021 ,I have not really enjoyed banking with them
I have been a loyal UBA customer for 10 years, and the experience has mostly been positive. However, their USSD service is quite unreliable at times. It gave me a tough time in April,I hope they can caddress this issue and make the USSD transactions more stable and efficient."
