Lapo has truly supported many people financially, and that’s a good thing. However, one major issue is the way they treat clients when it’s time to repay—often with disrespect. They really need a more respectful, understanding approach.
When it comes to repayment of loan and you are due for payment... You will see the other side of love they showed you when you refuse to pay on time.. A close friend once had the experience and I was aware of it.. It wasn't a great experience at all... The situation was bad.
Lapo knows how to manage customers, I have been relating with them since 2012, anytime I default in my group the Credit Officer in charge knows the method of how to collect the money back unlike other micro finance that turn their customers into beggars on the street.
With the emerge of their App, I m able to transfer money to my customers and repay their loan without the interference of CO. Just for me to print out the receipt and send it to the Officer monthly. Indeed now they are transparency and Accountability
Before the disbursement, Both Branch Manager and Credit Officer in Akure knows how to work on KYC thoroughly .
I have been relating with Lapo microfinance bank since 2013 at Akure. The name of my group is Modupe Oluwa, all Credit Officer allocated to my group are friendly, but sometimes they might be mild if some of the group members did not drop money ontime. I decided to stop collecting loan in 2021 due to personal reasons.
Now i need money to settle some bills, due to good record, the Area Manager accepted and asked me to bring two surety. The monthly payment is easy to return back via online banking.
Like before in 2013, I usually dropped money to group leader which might even cause argument sometimes, but now all repayment were online transactions.
Please Lapo here me out, first of all on the 23rd of last month I used my Moniepoint account to send 4k into the new Lapo account I created, the transaction went smoothly on the side of Moniepoint but my Lapo account never got credited. I reported the issue to both the Moniepoint and Lapo customer care, Moniepoint reached out to me and showed me that it wasn't their fault and I should contact Lapo meanwhile Lapo's supposed customer service is still inactive on WhatsApp.
LAPO Microfinance is too harsh when it comes to loan repayment. Their approach lacks empathy and puts unnecessary pressure on customers, even when challenges arise. While loan repayment is important, there should be better communication, understanding, and flexibility.
