MTN is easily the most reliable mobile network I’ve used in terms of internet speed and call quality. I’ve streamed HD videos, uploaded large files, and even joined Zoom meetings with minimal lag. However, the data bundles are expensive, and data seems to deplete faster than expected, even when background data is off. Their MyMTN app is functional but could use a design refresh, it sometimes takes long to load. Customer care via 180 is responsive, but automated responses delay real human interaction.
Data Consumption & Pricing:
Unfortunately, 6GB barely lasts two weeks with average use — chatting on WhatsApp, light Instagram scrolling, and occasional YouTube. A single Netflix movie can drain 1.5GB, which feels excessive. When compared to Airtel’s 7GB for ₦1,200, MTN feels overpriced.
I’ve noticed that my MTN data finishes unusually fast.Despite recharging multiple times within the month, the data doesn't last as expected, This is quite frustrating and disappointing. I strongly urge MTN to look into this issue and improve data transparency and value for customers. We deserve better service for the amount we spend.
I’ve been using MTN for a while, and I must say I appreciate the wide network coverage and relatively fast internet speed as it’s reliable in most areas I visit. However, there are a few things I’m not too happy about. Data seems to get exhausted too quickly compared to what I actually use, and the cost of some plans can feel a bit high. MTN works well for basic calls and internet, but there’s definitely room for improvement in customer engagement and data value.
