I’ve been banking with GTB for a few years now, and overall, it’s been a decent experience. Their mobile app is super easy to use—transfers, airtime, and bills get sorted in seconds. I also like how their USSD banking works even without internet.
But sometimes, network issues slow things down, especially during peak periods. I’ve also faced long queues at some branches, which can be frustrating. That said, customer support has been helpful whenever I’ve had issues.
It’s not perfect, but GTB gets most things right—and that’s why I’m still with them.
I’ve banked with GTB for over 5 years. Their mobile app is one of the best in Nigeria—fast, reliable, and easy to navigate. I use it for all my transfers, bills, and airtime. The GTWorld app especially is sleek and stable. That said, customer service at physical branches leaves a lot to be desired. I had an issue with a blocked card last year, and I spent almost 3 hours at the branch before it was resolved. The queue system is disorganized, and only a few staff were attending to customers. Also, the email response time is quite slow. It once took 5 days for them to reply to my complaint about a failed POS transaction.
GTBank's WhatsApp customer service is a great initiative.
The team is helpful, but their responses can sometimes take a while. Faster response times would make the experience even better and I'd appreciate it if issues could be resolved more efficiently, with clear explanations and follow-up actions.
I'm a big fan of the Gtbank app! It's super easy to use, and I can do all my banking on the go. Transactions are quick, and the interface is clean.
One thing I'd love to see improved is more detailed transaction descriptions- it would make tracking my expenses even easier! 👍
