Review Time
DStv offers some of the best TV content in Nigeria—from live football and international news to documentaries, movies, and African Magic. The decoder is easy to use, and the HD channels give a premium viewing experience.
But to be honest, for the amount we pay monthly, the value doesn’t always add up. Too many channels are just repeats, and some stations feel like fillers. Also, when a subscription expires, reactivating can sometimes take too long, even after payment.
They’ve got the content people want, but DStv really needs to work on their pricing, repeat content, and response time. It’s still one of the better options out there, but not perfect.
I like that the service is consistent, and there’s always something to watch. Recharging is easy through the app or USSD, which is very convenient. One thing I’d like improved is the subscription cost it can feel a bit high sometimes, especially for the premium package. But overall, DStv delivers solid entertainment.
Using the App.
The previous version worked better, this has a few bugs made worse by a poor customer service experience. Here are the
issues I could fit in under 500 characters:
1. Under Live help this keeps timing out such that I have to keep ending the chat and reconnecting in order to see what the agent has responded.
2. The staff basically told me it was a "me" problem and that I'm the only one who has complained so it must be me.
3. This app does not have a way to cancel subscriptions (the
main package)
DStv offers top-quality content—sports, movies, documentaries, and international channels all in one place. The HD quality is great, and their decoder features like pause and rewind add to the experience.
But the subscription fees keep rising, and some packages feel too expensive for the content offered. Occasional signal loss during rain is also a downside.
Still, if you love top-tier content (especially football), DStv delivers.
DSTV provides great entertainment content, especially for sports and movies. Unfortunately, the service is unreliable during rain and feels overpriced for the value offered.
I love Dstv for many reasons
Quality visuals, many selections, strong network and the likes. But their pricing is annoying to a common man. Its more like a waste for me to subscribe 16k plus a month and only watch one hour in some days. Another annoying thing is repetition of movies, they will replay one movie many times in a week.
I subscribed this month with this nigeria light issue, only God know what I will enjoy.
Abeg, give us new movies and reduce subscription price.
Dstv went from worse to worse for the last few years.
They are repeating cheap, old movies to death. Cartoons on every Mnet till 5 pm.
Nothing new anymore, nothing interesting anymore.
Their charges went up, their quality went down.
I used to love it. I still have in 4 different countries, but I will soon disconnect it.
It is a very boring cable provider now.
